Fully Staffed Sheriff’s Department

As Sheriff, I will bring a different perspective to the table in order to not only better serve our officers, but the community we serve.

Equal Enforcement of the Law

When politics and biases become a factor in simple police work, we as a whole need to come together and agree there is a problem then fix it.  As Sacramento changes, our department must as well. I stand by the constitution and equal protection of the law, no more discriminatory and selective enforcement.

Zero Tolerance Policy

A climate of disrespect, retaliation, sexual harassment, insubordination, and bullying will not be tolerated. I believe a change of culture within the department can and will occur by simply not promoting individuals with these behaviors.

Accountability And Community Outreach

I will encourage every employee to adhere to the mission of the Sacramento Sheriff’s department mission and what it stands for: “The mission of the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department is the protection of life and property, the preservation of the public peace and the enforcement of the law in partnership with our communities. To accomplish our mission, we dedicate ourselves to service with concern.“

Fiscal Responsibility for the People

Financial responsibility through communication, cooperation and preparation in spending taxpayer money efficiently and effectively. As Sheriff of Sacramento County, I promise to streamline the department’s budget and ensure that taxpayer money is used responsibly.

2nd Amendment and CCW Permits

I support our second amendment right. The state law authorizes the Sheriff to issue concealed weapon permits to residents of the county. I was born and raised in rural Sacramento County where most people had guns to protect themselves. I am very familiar with gun ownership and will follow state law to conduct this task and use technology to keep complete and accurate records to keep track of the necessary documentation needed.
